The Backwoods At Daylight
Roy Hurd

Ah the backwoods at daybreak is peaceful and still
Wind blows the snow off the trees on the hill
The stars go dim as the sky becomes light
And the white crescent moon says goodbye to the night

There’s no better time for a thanksgiving prayer
As when darkness wakes the daylight and brushes her hair
It’s a time when God is out walking around
And listens for any ole sweet sacred sound

Repeat Chorus:

Your sweet love at sunrise stirs me within
The sky is blood red as the new day begins
It’s a natural beautiful work of art
Made to strengthen the things that you feel in your heart

Repeat Chorus:
